THE CONNECTICUT YOUNG WRITERS TRUST 17TH ANNUAL WRITING COMPETITION JOIN US FOR THE OSCAR'S FOR YOUNG WRITERS ON JUNE 8TH

The Connecticut Young Writers Trust announces its 17th Annual Writing Competition, the state’s longest running literary contest dedicated to encouraging youth literacy and creative expression. We encourage high school teachers from around the state to submit their students’ prose and/or poetry to our annual writing competition through our online system.

Students need to be enrolled or in the equivalent of 9th through 12th grades in a public, private, parochial, Catholic, remedial or home school and all nominations must be made by a teacher. This year in June we will host our 17th annual awards ceremony where we will announce the winners from a pool of finalists, who will have been carefully selected by a team of published writers, journalists, and professors.

Finalists and two teachers will be rewarded for their hard work at our awards ceremony in June. The high school teachers who enter the most submissions in poetry and in prose respectively will receive $250 to the retailer of their choosing.
